The Alliance Française Zurich (AFZ) belongs to a substantial worldwide network: 850 establishments in 136 countries, across 5 continents. Every year, more than 500 000 students attend classes in French at the Alliance française. And more than 6 million people participate in their cultural activities.
Global coordination: Fondation Alliance Française.
The Alliance française Zurich, founded in 1883, was the first established in Switzerland. Its aim is to promote French culture and language, as well as to provide a space for intercultural exchanges.
The Alliance française Zurich is a French Language and Cultural Centre that also hosts a French Multimedia Library. Ideally located in the center of the city, the Alliance Française Zurich is less than two minutes’ walk from a bus stop and ten-minute direct connection to the main train station (ZHB). The Alliance française even has its own paperback library on the premises, which is open to the public on two afternoons in the week. This is the perfect place to stop off and meet Francophones before or after exploring the nearby Kunstmuseum.
The Alliance française is a non-profit organisation. You can support our action / work by donating or becoming a member!
